What Is the Format of the EURO 2024?
According to UEFA, the 2024 edition of the EURO will have the same format as the 2020 edition. This means that there will be 24 nations that qualified in the tournament through various routes (we’ll be looking at this in the next section).
These nations are then distributed into 6 groups of 4 teams. The nations will play each other team in their respective group and the top 2 teams move on the knockout stages. Joining them are 4 other nations that finished third in their groups.
The knockout stages are composed of the round of 16, the quarter-finals, the semi-finals, and the much-awaited final. In the next section, we’ll be looking at how nations will be qualifying. The qualifying format is the same as the previous edition.
How Do Nations Qualify for the EURO?
Qualification will take place between March and November of 2023 through the European Qualifiers. The 55 member states of UEFA are all eligible to participate in the qualifiers. These nations will be split into 10 groups of 5 or 6 teams each.
The winners of each group will move on to the tournament proper and will form part of the 24 playing nations. The final 4 teams will be determined through the European Qualifiers Play-Offs. These will be contested by the 16 best nations from the Nation’s League.
However, these 16 nations must not have qualified for the EURO. Moreover, these nations will be distributed into 4 groups of 4 teams. The teams in these groups will play in single-leg knockout games, with the winning team earning their place in the Euros.
Who Are the Favourites to Win the EURO of 2024?
It’s quite a bit too early to correctly predict who might be the winner of this event, there are some clear favourites already. An obvious contender is the host country itself, Germany. Whilst the Germans were knocked out in the round of 16, having the home advantage is definitely significant.
Another obvious favourite to win is the previous winning nation of the competition: Italy. Italy played a fantastic tournament, so much so that they emerged as the champions of the event! Moreover, they didn’t even concede a single loss in any of their matches!
Next up you’d have to consider England, the runners-up of the previous edition. England also gave some dazzling displays of football but were knocked out in the end. However, they did achieve the incredible record of the fastest goal ever scored!
The final team that you should also consider is France. Unfortunately, the French got knocked out early on in the event. However, they were predicted to be the winners of the entire event. Thus, chances are that they’ll playing with extra effort in order to prove themselves.
Who Is the Host of the EURO 2024? And When Will it Be Held?
The host for the next edition of the illustrious event is Germany. Germany was one of only 2 countries that came forward in order to host the event. The other country was Turkey, but the UEFA Executive Committee overwhelmingly voted for Germany.

What Are EURO Betting Odds?
There are still a couple of things that you should know before you play your first wager on this illustrious tournament. Arguably, the most important thing to know is what the odds are. These are the numbers you’ll see next to our markets.
These numbers are important for 2 very significant reasons: firstly, they tell you how much money you can win if the bet you placed is successful. Secondly, they also tell you the probability of an outcome, such as how likely a team will win a match.
It’s then your job to understand the odds and carefully balance these 2 factors in order to choose which wagers you should play. Finally, these factors work against each other, that is to say, the higher the probability, the lower the winnings, and vice versa.
How Can You Understand EURO Betting Odds?
The first thing that you’re going to need to know in order to be able to read the odds on our platform is that there 3 main formats that are used to represent the odds. These formats are known as decimal, fractional, and American odds.
There are 2 differences between these 3 formats, the first being where these odds formats are most commonly used in the world. The other difference being how they each represent the odds. Other than that, these formats are completely interchangeable.
Thus, using one format over another is a matter of preference or custom. If you want to finally be able to understand the formats, we have already gone through the ways of reading the odds formats on our sportsbook, which we suggest you read.
What Are EURO Betting Tips?
Another concept that might be good for you to know before placing your first wager on the Euros is tips. These are suggestions on who to wager on when betting on the prestigious event and other championships. These are given by sports-experts known as “tipsters”.
Tipsters will essentially spend a lot of time analysing a number of factors in order to predict who might win the tournament, a game, or a match. There are many factors that tipsters will analyse, such as the form of a team, its current composition, its previous performance, etc.
Once they’ve finished their analyses, these tipsters will post their predictions for their followers to use. Depending on the tipster you consult, these tips can found either for free or at a price. In the next section, we’ll be looking at how you can find tips.
