Enjoy Heaps of Markets on the FIFA World Cup

The FIFA World Cup is without a doubt the most prestigious and important football tournament in the world. In fact, this particular championship is so significant, that even people who aren’t generally fans of the sport tune in to enjoy it.

Moreover, the winner of the World Cup is regarded as being the greatest team on Earth. This is testament to the importance and prestige of the World Cup. The FIFA World Cup happens every 4 years, with the next edition set to happen in 2022 in Qatar.

Qualification proceeds through a series of qualification slots assigned by continent. The slots are assigned like so:

  • 13 direct slots for Europe;
  • 5 direct slots for Africa;
  • 5 direct slots and a playoff slot for Asia;
  • 4 direct slots and a playoff for South America;
  • 3 direct slots and a playoff slot for North America.

Oceania only gets a playoff slot.

Through these qualification slots, the 32 contestants that are going to contest the World Cup are selected. These 32 competitors are then divided into 8 groups of 4 teams. Then they proceed to a round robin stage, where every team plays each other once.

The top 2 competitors from each group then proceed to the round of 16 stage. This is decided through their ranking, which is calculated according to various factors. Afterwards, there are the quarter-finals, the semi-finals, the third-place play-off, and the final itself.

Play Your Wagers on the UEFA Champions League

The UEFA Champions League is the crown jewel of European club competitions as the biggest clubs compete to take home the illustrious trophy. There is a very complex process that goes behind choosing the qualified clubs of this tournament.

This involves a ranking system which automatically qualifies 26 clubs into the championship. Moreover, the previous winner of the championship and the winner of the UEFA Europa League also automatically qualify.

The final 6 spots are decided through qualification playoffs. Once the 32 competitors are decided, they’re then divided into 8 groups of 4. Each side plays one another twice, one home and one away game with the top 2 competitors qualifying for the knockout stages.

These are the round of 16, the quarter-finals, the semi-finals, and the final. However, oddly enough, the round of 16, quarter-finals, and semi-finals are 2-leg matches, played home and away. The final, however, is a normal single-leg game.

Play Your Bets on the UEFA European Championship

The UEFA European Championship is a highly anticipated tournament that pits 24 European nations against one another in order to lift the coveted title. The tournament happens once every 4 years, in between the years of the FIFA World Cup.

This is another one of the most important tournaments in the entirety of the sport. The participating nations are decided through qualifying matches: 55 nations are divided into 10 groups of 5 or 6 teams each. The top 2 competitors from these groups then move on to the competition proper.

This gives us the 20 competitors that are going to participate in the EURO. The final 4 are decided through another tournament, known as the European Qualifier Playoffs. Once the 24 contestants are decided, they are then distributed into 6 groups of 4.

The competitors then play every other team in their group. The best 2 from every group and 4 3rd place finishers will then move on to the round of 16. Afterwards, there are the quarter-finals, the semi-finals, and the final, where the winner of the EURO will be decided.

Wager on the English Premier League

The final tournament that we’ll be looking at is the English Premier League (EPL), which beats out all other domestic leagues in popularity. Whilst the importance of this competition is restricted to England, it’s still one of the most-watched tournaments around, which means Premier League betting is also super popular.

The EPL is the first division of the English system and consists of 20 clubs battling it out from August to May for the chance to be crowned the champions. Each club plays one another twice per season, once at home and once away, with 38 games in total per club.

Clubs will then receive points depending on their performance in the course of the tournament. These points are then used to calculate the clubs’ rankings in the EPL. Thus, a club can win the EPL depending on their performance.

This is completely different to the previous tournaments that make use of the knockout format. Instead of clubs being knocked out of the competition, however, the EPL uses a promotion and relegation system.

Thus, the lowest 3 clubs of the EPL are demoted to the EFL Championship, which is the second division of the English system. At the same time, the top 3 clubs from the EFL Championship are then promoted to the EPL.

How to Improve Your Football Betting: Understanding Odds & Tips

If you’re going to be wagering on the world-renowned goal sport, there are a few more things to know before you go and play that wager you’ve been itching to play. These are knowing how to understand the odds of a market and knowing what tips are.

What Are Football Betting Odds?

Betting odds are the numbers that you’ll find next to each market that we offer. These numbers allow you to understand the probability of an outcome as well as the potential returns you’ll get when the wager goes your way.

The higher the number, the less likely the wager is going to be successful but the more valuable its winnings will be. On the other hand, the lower the number, the more likely the event will happen but you’ll be winning less at the same time.

This is precisely why understanding odds is so important. Weighing up the profitability and probability of a wager before staking your cash is imperative when it comes to wagering on any sport. Furthermore, it’s good to know that bookmakers calculate the odds you see next to each market.

Bookmakers consider many factors, including recent team form, key players injured, or past performances of a competitor, etc. Betiton™ is proud to provide our loyal New Zealand players with the best betting and gambling value around.

The Key to Understanding Football Betting Odds

If you want to start understanding odds, the first thing to know is that there are 3 main formats with which to represent these numbers. These are: decimal, fractional, and American. Whilst these formats are interchangeable, there are a couple of differences.

Firstly, there is the difference of where in the world the formats happen to be most popular. Secondly, they differ in how they represent your chances of success and profit. Other than that, the different formats will tell you the exact same things.

If you wish to understand how these formats can be read, we suggest reading the odds section of our sports betting page by simply following the hyperlink. This should really come in handy for when you’re placing your bets on the great goal sport.

What Are Football Betting Tips & How Can They Help You Bet Better?

Betting tips are pieces of advice given by tipsters on which team to back in a game, which bookmakers to visit, etc. Essentially, a tipster is an expert in the field who offers regular betting advice on upcoming events and competitions.

Their aim is to provide you with pieces of advice that make the most sense according to the particular circumstances that they analyse. In fact, tipsters look at various factors in order to best determine what the outcome of a match can possibly be.

These are the same factors that bookmakers look at to determine the odds of a market. These are, namely, previous performances, current team composition, and so on. Finally, some tipster sites require you to sign up or pay a subscription, while many offer their service free of charge.

Where Can You Find Tips to Help You Wager on Football?

Finding tips and tipsters is rather simple as all you need to do is a simple search on your preferred search engine. Our best pieces of advice, however, are to always play responsibly, to never stake more than you can afford to lose, to always make time for the important things in your life.

However, Kiwi Betiton™ members can also make use of our new, exclusive service: betting predictions by football legend Djibril Cissé! For those who don’t know: Cissé is a highly accomplished footballer, having played with clubs like Liverpool, where he was also a valuable asset in one of their Champions League wins. Football Betting FAQs

What is an over/under bet?

An over/under bet is a wager “against the bookmaker”. Essentially, the bookmaker will give you a number of goals that he think will be scored. You’ll then have to wager on whether you think there will be more goals (over) or less goals (under).

What is a parlay bet?

A parlay bet is when you combine multiple wagers into one. This is when you choose several wagers and play them all with one stake.

Can I play a wager during a football match?

Yes, absolutely! You can take advantage of our ‘In-Play’ betting feature to wager on matches live, that is, as they’re being played.

What is a handicap bet?

A handicap bet is when you a match-up between a particularly powerful team (the favourite) and one that’s not as strong (the underdog). This creates an unfavourable situation where the odds on the favourite are too low and those on the underdog are too high. The handicap bet counters this by placing a goal deficit on the favourite, whilst giving the underdog a goal surplus. This levels the playing field, giving you improved odds for the match.

What is an Asian handicap wager?

An Asian handicap is the same as the handicap wager with the difference that a draw is not considered as a possible outcome. This, in turn, gives much better odds than the regular handicap.
